Discover wheel-throwing with us at Platypus Ceramics Studio!

 

This 7-week course welcomes adults and creative teens (ages 13–17) to learn wheel fundamentals, develop skills, and explore personal style — whether you’re brand-new or building on past experience.​

 

We’re proud to have had many teens join our classes — they’ve consistently been mature, thoughtful, and a great addition to our studio community, fitting in naturally with our adult learners.​

 

What’s included:

• 1 bag of M340 clay to get you started (upgrade options available)

• Unlimited open-studio time to practice and play, I am always in the studio to teach during Open Studio time!

• All firings, underglazes, transfers, and studio dipping glazes included

• If you need to miss a class — no worries! Make up missed class time using your unlimited open studio hours anytime within the 7-week session (we only ask that all creations be placed on the drying shelf by Week 5 for bisque)

• Optional premium Amaco & Mayco brush-on glazes for a small fee​

 

Teen Registration Guidelines:

• Ages 13–15 must register with and attend alongside an adult (18+)

• Ages 16–17 may attend without an adult​ 

 

By the end, you’ll feel confident on the wheel and head home with beautiful pieces you’ll be proud to use, display, or gift.​
