Are you ready to dive into the wonderful world of clay? Then join us for our exciting Handbuilding Pottery Class! Here at Platypus Ceramics, we believe everyone has a creative spark waiting to be ignited. In this hands-on class, you'll discover the magic of transforming simple slabs, coils, and pinches of clay into your very own masterpiece. What will you create? The possibilities are endless! A stylish mug for your morning coffee? A beautiful platter for sharing delicious treats? A whimsical birdhouse for your feathered friends? Or maybe a sculpture of your favorite animal? It's entirely up to you! Our expert instructors will be there every step of the way, providing guidance and encouragement as you explore the techniques of handbuilding. And once your creation is complete, you'll get to add a splash of personality with our vibrant selection of underglazes. We'll take care of the final touch by applying a shiny clear glaze, leaving you with a piece you'll treasure forever. No experience? No problem! This class is perfect for all levels and ages. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, we'll help you discover the joy of working with clay. (Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.) Cancellation Policy
We look forward to see you in the studio! Please note that Courses, and Events are generally non refundable, however we understand that there are sometimes situations out of your control that may arise. Please reach out should you have any questions or concerns. If you are going to miss a class, please contact Erin to discuss using the Open Studio time to make up your missed class ( there may also be room in another class). We ask that you have all of your pieces trimmed and placed on the drying rack by the end of your fifth class (trimming class) to ensure they are bisque fired and ready for you final class ( Glazing) Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to myself.
